Fused glass project: “leaping lizards”

Art Glass, there are many techniques that can be done. It can be very simplistic or complicated, a decision made by the artist. This will be an example of a fused glass piece. The interlocking lizards are at the beginning stages of design. It is my desire to share the process with you.

First the glass is cut into the design pieces or elements. In this case all of the pieces are the same but 3 different colors are used and interlocked, which means the fit must be done as perfectly as possible.

This picture shows fitting the pieces in one by one and adjusting with a diamond file or grinder. Once fit, each piece will be cleaned and glued to another piece of glass and fused up to 1450 degrees F. I will keep you posted on my progress, the fun is just beginning.
